Happy Tuesday, everyone!! For this week’s Alternative Movie Poster Tuesday I wanted to look at one of my favorite movies, Moonrise Kingdom. The whole design of the film is terrific and the movie has a very unique style and whimsical feel that the original poster represents perfectly. I found some awesome redesigns too!
First, here is the original and the international posters.

I love the style of illustration in this one and that the design only uses two colors, blue and brown. There are two different images here and they work very well together. This is also one of my favorite scenes from the movie with Suzy and Sam dancing on the beach. The land on both sides on the poster creates a nice balance and the designer really makes great use of the whole space.

This design has a lot of personality and I love some of the little details. Suzy’s scissors are stuck in the tree and the raccoon wears glasses and smokes a pipe and the bird wears Suzy’s binoculars. Really cute representations of the two. I love the font and texture here as well.

I really like the colors and the overall concept of this design. The title is made to look like a patch and this is a cool representation of the storm/ flash flood scene. Out of these designs this is the one I lingered on the longest because there are so many things floating in the water and all are important to the movie.
Comment and let me hear what you think of these designs or suggest a movie that you would like to be picked for the next “Alternative Poster Tuesday.”
