Alternative Movie Poster Tuesday: The Nightmare Before Christmas

29 Oct

Happy Tuesday, everyone!! Just two more days until Halloween! For this week’s Alternative Movie Poster Tuesday I wanted to look at “The Nightmare Before Christmas” alternative designs. This is one of my favorite Halloween movies and I thought for this post I’d use a bit of a different format than I usually use on Tuesdays. Each of these designs use the same image of Jack’s head to represent the movie and have a lot in common so I’ll post all of the posters and talk about some of the key differences at the end of this post.

The first design differs the most because it lacks texture; just plain black and white. I like the simplicity of this one and the image is iconic enough that we don’t even need a title. If there was any doubt with what we are looking at our suspicions would be confirmed when we see “Tim Burton.”

The last two have similar text placement and fonts and colors but the skull is represented differently. The first uses different types of bugs which is neat and the second creates a classic Halloween scene.

All of these are good concepts and this demonstrates how many options there are for just one subject. Which is your favorite?

Comment and let me hear what you think of these designs or suggest a movie that you would like to be picked for the next “Alternative Poster Tuesday.”
